Why convert JPG to PNG?
JPG files use "lossy" compression, meaning they lose a little bit of quality every time you save them in order to keep the file size low. PNG, on the other hand, is a "lossless" format. Converting your photo to a PNG is great if you plan on editing the image heavily in Photoshop and don't want to lose any more pixel data.
Does this make the background transparent?
Converting a JPG to a PNG will change the file type and allow for transparency, but it **will not automatically remove the background** from your original image. You will still need a background remover tool for that.
